Ut oh!

Lately the weeks seem like they are going so fast! By the time Friday comes I realize I have yet to write my weekly blogs & comments! Oops! It is probably wise that I attempt to write every night so I won't keep missing my blog and comment deadline!

Currently it is Sunday night and I AM NOT looking forward to Monday. It is my longest day of the week and feels like the day drags out!

I am sorry for the most boring blog ever, but I am really unsure of what else to say!!

Have a good week everyone!!!

Would this song choice be better?

Please let me know if you think this song would be a better song choice....

“No Surprise”- Daughtry

I've practiced this for hours, gone round and round
And now i think that i've got it all down
And as i say it louder, i love how it sounds
'cause i'm not taking the easy way out
Not wrappin' this in ribbons
Shouldn't have to give a reason why

It's no surprise.. i won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that i stayed til today
Yeah you and i will be a tough act to follow
But i know in time we'll find this was no surprise

It came out like a river, once i let it out
When i thought that i wouldn't know how
Held onto it forever.. just pushing it down
It felt so good to let go of it now
Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn't have to give a reason why

It's no surprise.. i won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that i stayed til today
There's nothing here in this heart left to borrow
There's nothing here in this soul left to save
Don't be surprised when we hate this tomorrow
God knows we tried to find an easier way
Yeah you and i will be a tough act to follow
But i know in time we'll find this was no surprise
Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The lovin' look that's left your eyes
That's why this comes as no..
As no surprise

If i could see the future and how this plays out
I bet it's better than where we are now
But after going through this
It's easier to see the reason why

It's no surprise.. i won't be here tomorrow
I can't believe that i stayed til today
(stayed til today)
Yeah you and i will be a tough act to follow
But i know in time we'll find this was no surprise
Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The lovin' look that's left your eyes
But i know in time we'll find this was no surprise
(and i hope.. and i hope.. and i hope.. and i hope.. and i hope..)

Song Choice

If Today Was Your Last Day- Nickelback

My best friend gave me the best advice
He said each day's a gift and not a given right
Leave no stone unturned, leave your fears behind
And try to take the path less traveled by
That first step you take is the longest stride

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had, if today was your last day?
What if, what if, if today was your last day?

Against the grain should be a way of life
What's worth the price is always worth the fight
Every second counts 'cause there's no second try
So live like you're never living twice
Don't take the free ride in your own life

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had?

And would you call those friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
And would you find that one you're dreaming of?
Swear up and down to God above
That you'd finally fall in love if today was your last day?

If today was your last day
Would you make your mark by mending a broken heart?
You know it's never too late to shoot for the stars
Regardless of who you are

So do whatever it takes
'Cause you can't rewind a moment in this life
Let nothing stand in your way
'Cause the hands of time are never on your side

If today was your last day and tomorrow was too late
Could you say goodbye to yesterday?
Would you live each moment like your last?
Leave old pictures in the past?
Donate every dime you had?

And would you call those friends you never see?
Reminisce old memories?
Would you forgive your enemies?
And would you find that one you're dreaming of
Swear up and down to God above
That you'd finally fall in love if today was your last day?

Its a little weird how this song seems to be coming into play. When we were told to come up with a song that could some how relate to the book we read over the summer, this was the first song that came to mind. Let me know what you think!

College Life

College life is sooooo much different than being in high school! Although I miss my family daily and the people important to me back home, I love having the chance to live on my own! When I go home I feel a new sense of freedom, and I feel like even more of an adult! This has been such and awesome experience so far!

About me

My name is Lauren Hall, and I am a freshman at Ball State University. I am an Elementary Education major. I hope to one day be a teacher in a fourth grade classroom. This past school year I interned with a fourth grade teacher near my high school and loved every minute of it. My ultimate goal is to be a high school softball coach. In high school I was an athlete. I played basketball my freshman and sophomore years, and volleyball and softball all four years. Not playing sports now is really hard for me because it was my hobby. I enjoy all sports though. Baseball, hockey, and football are a ton of fun to watch! I am a Cincinnati Reds fan, and an Indianapolis Colts fan. I enjoy listening to music! I like to listen to just about anything. I love to dance; although I am shy about it. I am usually a pretty shy person until I get to know someone. Being the center of attention is one of my biggest fears! I also am afraid of heights and snakes! (ewww gross!) I don't mind roller coasters and airplanes, providing they are moving. I have an amazing boyfriend, Matt. I couldn't ask much more from him. He is a ton of fun to be around, and he is my best friend. The hardest part about being at BSU, is missing my sister. I hate not being able to see her play sports. She has a true talent, and I wish I could be a part of it!

That is just a little insight about me. Feel free to ask any questions(within reason).

Option for my memoir

This is roughly one of the ideas I have thought about using in my memoir for English.

It was now the second round of sectionals, and after a reluctant win over Heritage in the first round, my nerves were at a new all time high. I was warming up to the side of the dugout, swinging the bat i planned on using that game, as the sound of Nickelback's "If Today Was Your Last Day" was playing on the PA system. The tears kept welling up in my eyes, but the thought of crying was not an option. The thought of loosing this next game was horrible. I knew that once we lost, as a senior, I would be done. I'd have to put the cleats in the closet, and the bat in the garage. I wasn't ready to loose. I was determined to win.

The team I had been leading all season confidence has risen from the game before. There was now a sense of hope and desire. Everyone who I didn't feel believed in us before, I now had a different vibe from. This was our chance now. We were going to succeed.
